Presentation of the BAEKTEL project at INFOFEST 2014

InfoFest, Budva


In Budva, starting from 1994, every year, the Festival of Information Technology Achievements – INFOFEST is held as selective thematic gathering which represents central ICT event in the region. Organizers of the INFOFEST are the Government of Montenegro (Ministry of Information Society and Telecommunications) and Consulting Company Business Link from Belgrade.

The International Association FERAM declared INFOFEST as one of ten most important ICT events in the Mediterranean while the Union of ICT Associations (JISA) awarded Organizers eight times, with the Discobolos prize for the best expert meeting in the region.

XXI INFOFEST was held from 28th of September till 4th of October in hotel “Maestral” - Budva. The program of INFOFEST 2014 included exhibitions, panel discussions and presentation contents and among them was presented to the public the BAEKTEL project through the authoring work “Blending academic and entrepreneurial knowledge through the network of open educational courses” by Jelena Ljucović, Snežana Šćepanović and Milena Dragutinović. This work was presented on 30th September in the section intended for “Presentations of the most successful authoring works under the public tender of INFOFEST”

Visitors were introduced to the main ideas of the BAEKTEL project, members of the project consortium and the ways of its implementation. The presentation outlined advantages and possibilities of this project for the Western Balkans and beyond. Also, it emphasized the importance of including a larger number of companies and connecting them with academic community, as well as motivating teachers, students and entrepreneurs to a lifelong learning through this concept of education. The presentation was followed by the discussion where visitors asked questions.
