Presentation of the BAEKTEL project at IT’15 conference in Žabljak
From 23rd to 28th February the 20th jubilee annual IT’15 conference was held in Žabljak, Montenegro. The conference, in its nature, is international scientific and professional gathering, being organized by Faculties of Electrical Engineering from Podgorica, Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad and Banja Luka. Its program consists of lectures, debates, panel discussions, workshops and presentations, all concerning trends in the field of information and communication technologies in Montenegro and worldwide.
Being a major ICT happening in Montenegro, Faculty of Information Technology has participated in this conference since 2007, a year after its establishment. Among other presentations held by their staff and students, Tripo Matijević presented BAEKTEL project and its objectives to the public through presentation “Creating environment for blending academic and entrepreneurial knowledge using open educational resources”. The presentation was organized on 25th February in the section ICT in higher education systems and health systems.
Visitors were introduced to BAEKTEL project, its objectives and the members of the project consortium. The presentation also emphasized the advantages and possibilities that BAEKTEL presents to Western Balkans and broader. After explaining the concept of open educational resources and their role in BAEKTEL, many of other Universities’ staff had a lot of questions and concerns about their implementation and sustainability. That led to productive discussion where participants concluded that further research and education on the topic needs to be done in Montenegro.
